Lilit (Lilo) Danielyan is a photographer, filmmaker, and teaching artist who splits her time between Portugal, Armenia, and the US. She contributed as an artist-photographer to the book Dear Maine: The Trials and Triumphs of Maine’s 21st Century Immigrants (IslandPort Press). Lilo excels in both commercial and documentary photography, with her work focusing on themes of migration, belonging, and nostalgia.
In 2021, Lilo’s project Along the Closed Borders earned recognition in the Documentary category at the international College Photographer of the Year competition (CPOY 76) and was featured in Meduza. In 2022, her project Landscapes of Home won first prize in the international iDiaspora Photo Contest.
Lilo studied documentary photography at Docdocdoc and 16mm narrative cinema at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) in Prague. She holds a BA in Psychology from Smith College. Lilo is a Foundry Photo Fellow and a member of Women Photograph.
